Beijing, August 31 (Xinhua) Apple has given up its seat on the board of directors of DiDi, and its representative has left the board of directors of Didi.

Adrian Perica, Apple's vice president of corporate development, has resigned from Didi's board, according to a board change press release announced by Didi on August 4.

Perica, a former investment bank banker at Goldman Sachs, joined Apple in 2009, responsible for mergers and acquisitions and strategic investments, reporting directly to CEO Tim Tim Cook. Perica joined Didi's board in 2016 after Apple announced a $1 billion (6.892 billion yuan) investment in Didi. Mr Cook said at the time that it was a "great financial investment".

Didi has not commented. Apple declined to comment.
