At the scene of the event, Tesla's senior manager of supercharging development and operations also accepted interviews with the media, such as car East and West, and answered questions about this year's development plan and Tesla's logic of building the station.

1. The goal this year is to optimize the layout of the site. Tesla has deployed supercharging stations in China since 2014. at present, there are a total of more than 1200 supercharging stations and nearly 9000 charging piles in China. Among them, the V3 charging pile of the maximum charging power 250kW is about 60%, and the rest is the V2 charging pile of the maximum charging power 120kW.

In addition, Tesla has more than 700 destination charging stations (slow charging) and more than 1800 destination charging piles in China.

In terms of charging network planning, Zhang Lina said that the main achievement in the past eight years is to complete the construction of the charging network framework, while from this year, the development planning of its charging network focuses on optimizing the layout.

Specifically, on the one hand, it will optimize and increase the site density within the existing framework, on the other hand, it will upgrade the charging piles in a specific charging station (such as increasing the number), and the ultimate goal is to improve charging efficiency.

"now that the ratio of cars to piles in China has changed from 6:1 in the past to 3:1, how to improve the operational efficiency of charging facilities is a challenge and problem for the whole industry, including Tesla." Zhang Lina said.

Tesla's supercharging stations are still dominated by cities, with relatively few high-speed service areas. In response to the layout of charging stations on the highway, Zhang Lina said that Tesla will closely follow the Chinese government's development strategy.

The Action Plan for speeding up the Construction of charging Infrastructure along the Highway issued by the Ministry of Transport and other departments recently mentioned that by the end of 2022, highway service areas in areas other than high cold and high altitude across the country will be able to provide basic charging services; by the end of 2023, qualified ordinary provincial trunk highway service areas (stations) will be able to provide basic charging services.

"We are in close communication with government departments and industry enterprises to explore the possibility of laying out charging networks on highways." Zhang Lina said.

2. at this stage, car companies such as Weilai self-built charging stations have opened their own charging stations to allow third-party vehicles to recharge.

On the issue of openness, Zhang Lina said that Tesla has opened up charging networks in 13 European countries and has taken this step.

There are also open plans in China, and compatibility adaptation work on the charging network and third-party vehicles is under way, which will be opened in due course.

3. In the future, it is hoped that the background of Tesla, which is based on big data to build a station, can read the location and track of each car. In theory, we can also determine the location of the station based on these data, so as to achieve better service results.

So does Tesla use these data?

Zhang Lina said that Tesla has strict rules on the use of data and will strictly abide by the relevant laws and regulations of the state. Therefore, even if I have the ability to collect data, I have not been engaged in building a station based on data in the past few years.

If possible in the future, Tesla's ultimate goal is to build and optimize the operational efficiency of the charging network through big data.
