The atomic frequency discrimination solar velocimetry navigator carried by Xi he has realized the principle of atomic frequency discrimination in orbit for the first time in the world. the equipment can determine the frequency change of sunlight in real time and accurately, and then obtain the apparent velocity of the satellite relative to the sun.

On October 14, 2021, the Xihe satellite was successfully launched from the Taiyuan Satellite launch Center. During its operation, Xihe has carried out scientific observations in accordance with the established mission plan, and has cumulatively transmitted the original observation data 50Tbit and generated scientific data about 300Tbit, which is of great significance for the follow-up solar space exploration mission and to enhance China's international influence in the field of space science. It is worth mentioning that the scientific data of Xihe will be open and shared to the whole world.

At present, the National Space Administration has organized relevant units to put forward a series of mission plans for solar-terrestrial L5 solar exploration, solar polar orbit exploration, solar approach exploration and so on.
