Musk had planned to buy Twitter for $44 billion on Aug. 30, Beijing time, but now he wants to close the deal, resulting in a confrontation between the two sides. Mr Musk summoned a Twitter whistle to ask him for documents and communications related to spam accounts, security vulnerabilities, hidden security vulnerabilities and illegal activities, according to court documents.

The whistleblower is Peiter Zatko, a well-known hacker and former head of security for Twitter. The information Musk asked for from him was mainly related to the way spam accounts were evaluated. Musk has said that he gave up trading mainly because Twitter misled himself and regulators, giving spam account, robot account data is not true.

Ann Lipton, a professor at Tulane University Law School, believes that once he gets the information from Zakot, Musk may file new fraud charges with Twitter. But Lipton also said it was unclear whether the judge in charge of the Twitter case would allow Musk to do so because Musk voluntarily abandoned due diligence before signing the agreement and the case had a tight schedule.

A Twitter lawyer said at a hearing last week that it was legally irrelevant for Mr. Musk to focus on spam accounts in order to get rid of acquisitions, as Twitter has always stressed that spam account data are just estimates.
