Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, August 29, the factory approval meeting of the Advanced Space-based Solar Observatory (ASO-S) was held in Beijing last week, and a satellite expedition ceremony was held to make arrangements and arrangements for the satellite transportation plan, launch site work plan, flight control preparation, and organization and management.

According to the arrangement, the ASO-S satellite and its supporting CZ-2D Y55 carrier rocket will arrive at the Jiuquan Satellite launch Center in early September, and it is planned to launch in early October.

CTOnews.com learned that the Advanced Space-based Solar Observatory (Advanced Space-based Solar Observatory,ASO-S) is a comprehensive special satellite for solar exploration established and implemented by the Space Science pilot Project (Phase II) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The satellite, weighing 888kg, will operate in a 720km solar synchronous orbit with a design life of more than four years. The ASO-S satellite carries three payloads: the all-day vector magnetic imager, the Lehmann Alpha solar telescope and the solar hard X-ray imager.

According to reports, with the scientific goal of "one magnetic storm, two storms", the satellite aims to make use of the opportunity of the 25th week peak year of solar activity to simultaneously observe the two most violent burst phenomena on the sun-flares and coronal mass ejections (CME), as well as the diurnal vector magnetic field, and to study the origin, interaction and correlation of solar magnetic fields, solar flares and coronal mass ejections. It also provides support for space disastrous weather forecasts that seriously affect human high-tech activities.

"China's first comprehensive solar exploration satellite, the Advanced Space-based Solar Observatory, will be launched in October and will be launched today."
