Not only that, information suggests Sony will soon launch a new model of the PS5. According to Japanese retailers, Sony will release a third PS5 model in the next few weeks, with the new PS5 model CFI-1200, which will be available in Japan on September 15 (the same day as the PS5 price increase in Japan).

It's unclear what changes will be made to the new PS5 models, but there's speculation that the upcoming PS5 models will use the new AMD 6 Nano chipset. Since this is a newer chip, its supply should be much better, allowing Sony to produce PS5 consoles at a faster rate.

Speculation is that although the chipset is very different from the custom 7 nm AMD CPU already used in the PS5, it is not expected to have any major performance changes, and Sony made this change purely to improve productivity.
