Samsung released the latest official virtual image: G ∙ NUSMAS, an alien.
CTOnews.com, August 29 (Xinhua)-- Samsung officials said today that behind the door of Samsung Electronics headquarters lives an employee from a faraway planet that is different from ours. Through a series of mysteries, this whimsical creature has become Samsung's top secret engineer, helping the company develop innovative technologies that stimulate creativity and enhance users' capabilities. The alien, known as G ∙ NUSMAS, is a new avatar to be launched by Samsung.
According to Samsung, G ∙ NUSMAS is a small blue alien with big eyes and Samsung's latest virtual work. Samsung officials say the idea of G ∙ NUSMAS comes from a joke that people make fun of every time Samsung releases a new and unique product-Samsung must have hired an alien to design and develop its innovative technology. However, it remains to be seen whether the joke is as widely circulated as Samsung said.
Samsung said G ∙ NUSMAS was created to communicate with younger generations, especially millennials and Generation Z (Internet Generation) consumers. YH Lee, chief marketing officer and global marketing director of Samsung Electronics, said: "the idea of borrowing an Internet memo shows customers' intimacy to Samsung Electronics, and a friendly and pleasant avatar has come into the world. By letting our whimsical and brilliant aliens show different aspects of Samsung to the public, I hope our consumers will be more familiar with our brand."
The name "G ∙ NUSMAS" is the reverse spelling of "SAMSUNG". Samsung says its home planet is Nowus-129, a planet 100 million light-years from Earth, and "Nowus-129" is also the reverse spelling of South Korea's Suwon 129Suwon, which is the address of Samsung's headquarters.
Samsung plans to release a series of short videos detailing the story behind G ∙ NUSMAS, starting with its birth and unexpected arrival on Earth, including G ∙ NUSMAS's journey to work, play and other experiences at Samsung headquarters.
CTOnews.com learned that G ∙ NUSMAS will make its debut on IFA 2022, the story of G ∙ NUSMAS will be posted on Samsung's social media channels and website on September 2, and consumers will be able to communicate with G ∙ NUSMAS through social media, metacosmos and other digital channels.
