CTOnews.com August 28, Microsoft recently announced that Microsoft Kaizala will retire on August 23, 2023, a mobile-priority employee messaging platform launched by Microsoft Garage as early as 2016. Microsoft Kaizala has begun to restrict new subscribers from joining.

CTOnews.com has learned that users who try to join Kaizala will be redirected to the Microsoft Teams platform. According to the report, Microsoft has plans to combine Kaizala with Microsoft Teams in 2019. "the function of Kaizala complements the powerful communication and collaboration capabilities of Teams, the teamwork center in Microsoft 365."

According to Microsoft, "many Kaizala users have Office or Microsoft 365 licenses, but have not yet fully enabled them." Microsoft positioned the termination of Kaizala as "an opportunity for our partners to transfer Kaizala users to Teams". More importantly, all Azure Active Directory (AAD) customers of Kaizala will be granted an one-year free trial license for Exploratory Teams, which is a powerful move by Microsoft to attract customers to join Teams.

It is expected that some theme features of Microsoft Kaizala will be added to Teams soon to make it easier for users to transition.
