Meng Zhenping, chairman and secretary of the party group of China Southern Power Grid, delivered a special speech at the main forum of the 2022 World New Energy Automobile Congress.

According to reports, by 2023, five southern provinces and regions will achieve full coverage of charging piles in villages and towns. In order to help the green travel of new energy vehicle owners, Southern Power Grid Company continues to improve the charging service network and build charging facilities in highways and remote areas such as counties, townships and villages, so as to provide universal services for car owners to charge anytime and anywhere.

CTOnews.com learned that data show that as of July 2022, the coverage rate of charging piles in villages and towns in five southern provinces and regions has reached 60%, and the number of township coverage sites has reached 2754. Among them, Guangdong will achieve full coverage of township charging piles by the end of September this year; Guangxi and Hainan will achieve full coverage of township charging piles by the end of this year, and Yunnan and Guizhou are expected to achieve 70% coverage by the end of the year. It is expected that the five southern provinces and regions will achieve full coverage of charging facilities in tourist scenic spots above Class A this year, and full coverage of charging piles in villages and towns next year.

In 2022, the Southern Power Grid Company plans to invest 1.8 billion yuan to build no less than 20,000 charging piles.

During the 14th five-year Plan period, the cumulative investment in charging infrastructure will reach more than 10 billion yuan.

It is estimated that by 2025, the charging facilities of the Southern Power Grid Company will cover 3000 key residential communities, and about 35000 new community public charging facilities will be built, 2000 new urban public charging stations and about 40000 urban public charging facilities will be built.

By 2025, 1000 highway charging stations will be built, and about 10000 new highway charging facilities will be built.

About 14000 new charging facilities will be added to tourist attractions by 2025.
