Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens Daniel Wu in South China and Microsoft to be afraid of clue delivery! August 28, in a blog post posted on Saturday, local time, Google announced that it is launching a new cross-device software development kit (SDK) that contains the tools developers need to make their applications work well on Android devices and eventually on non-Android phones, tablets, TVs, cars and other devices.
SDK should allow developers to use their applications to do three key things: discovering nearby devices, establishing secure connections between devices, and hosting the experience of applications on multiple devices. According to Google, its cross-device SDK uses Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and ultra-wide band to provide multi-device connectivity support.
Google describes a variety of use cases for cross-device SDK in its blog post, and it seems to come in handy in many cases. For example, cross-device SDK allows multiple users on different devices to choose food from menus when ordering together. It also allows users to display from where the article pauses when switching from a phone to a tablet, and even allows passengers in the car to share specific map locations with the vehicle's navigation system.
This sounds almost like an extension of Nearby Share, which allows Android users to transfer files to Chrome OS and other devices running Android. In April, well-known developer Mishaal Rahman (Mishaal Rahman) discovered Google's upcoming "nearby sharing" update, which allows users to quickly share files on devices logged in to Google. Google also said in a keynote speech in CES 2022 that it would bring "nearby sharing" to Windows devices later this year.
The latest cross-device SDK is currently only available for developer previews and is now available only on Android phones and tablets. Google eventually hopes to extend support to "other Android interfaces and non-Android operating systems", including iOS and Windows, but there is no specific timetable. Because the feature is still in its early stages, we may not be able to see applications running across devices between iOS and Android in the short term.
