In the first half of this year, global sales of new energy vehicles exceeded 4.22 million, an increase of 66.38% over the same period last year and a new record. Among them, the sales of new energy vehicles in China reached 2.6 million in the first half of the year, accounting for more than 60% of the total global sales. At the same time, the market penetration rate of new energy vehicles in China has exceeded 21.6%, and the number of new energy vehicles has exceeded 11 million.

With the improvement of the landing speed of intelligent network connected automobile technology, and the continuous rise of the demand for high-precision sensors and vehicle software, the overall market size is expected to be close to 470 billion US dollars in 2030.

At the beginning of April this year, BYD officially announced that it would stop the production of fuel vehicles from March 2022 according to its strategic development needs. In the future, BYD will focus on pure electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles in the automotive section.

This marks the first time in the world that BYD has officially announced that it will stop producing fuel-fueled cars. BYD management expects to sell at least 1.5 million new energy vehicles in China this year, more than twice as many as last year.

On May 30, Li Qian, secretary of the board of directors of BYD, answered the question of why BYD cut fuel vehicles during a financial visit to CCTV.
