According to CCTV News today, experts attending the meeting said that the cumulative global sales of new energy vehicles have now exceeded 20 million. In the first half of this year, global sales of new energy vehicles exceeded 4.22 million, an increase of 66.38% over the same period last year and a new record. Among them, the sales of new energy vehicles in China reached 2.6 million in the first half of the year, accounting for more than 60% of the total global sales. At the same time, the market penetration rate of new energy vehicles in China has exceeded 21.6%, and the number of new energy vehicles has exceeded 11 million.

With the improvement of the landing speed of intelligent network connected automobile technology, and the continuous rise of the demand for high-precision sensors and vehicle software, the overall market size is expected to be close to 470 billion US dollars in 2030.

According to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, the production and sales of new energy vehicles in China completed 266.1 million and 2.6 million respectively in the first half of the year, an increase of 1.2 times over the same period last year. Among them, the sales of new energy passenger vehicles accounted for 24.0% of the total passenger car sales, and the proportion of new energy vehicles among Chinese brand passenger cars reached 39.8%.

CTOnews.com learned that data from the Ministry of Public Security showed that by the end of June 2022, the number of new energy vehicles in the country had reached 10.01 million, accounting for 3.23 percent of the total, an increase of 27.80 percent compared with the end of 2021. Among them, there are 8.104 million pure electric vehicles, accounting for 80.93% of the total number of new energy vehicles.
