CTOnews.com, Aug. 27, according to the Wall Street Journal, on Thursday, local time, DoorDash reported a data breach involving the company's users and distributors.

CTOnews.com learned that DoorDash said the information read included customer name, email address, shipping address and phone number, order information and partial payment card information. In addition, the names, phone numbers or e-mail addresses of DoorDash staff were also disclosed.

However, DoorDash noted that the number of people affected accounted for only a "very small percentage" of the information held by the company. A spokesman for DoorDash declined to provide more specific figures when asked about the matter.

According to DoorDash, the company investigated the breach and determined that "unauthorized parties have gained access to some of our internal tools using stolen supplier employee authentication information."
