The first generation of Tensor processors for Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro is an improved version of Exynos 2100. Now there are reports that Samsung is testing several new chipsets, one of which may be a new Tensor processor.

According to the latest report from GalaxyClub, Samsung is testing two new chipsets. One of them may be the successor to Exynos 1280, which is expected to be named Exynos 1380. The other chipset is S5P9865, which may be the next generation of Google Tensor chipset, and the guess is that the model of the first-generation Tensor processor is S5P9845.

According to the report, because S5P9865 (codenamed "Zum") is being tested on a development board codenamed "Ripcurrent", it may not be Tensor 2 used in Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. CTOnews.com learned that Tensor 2 was tested on a development board codenamed "Cloudripper". Therefore, the new Tensor chipset may be used for the Pixel 8 series.

Samsung is also testing a chipset called S5E8835, which, judging from its model, could be the successor to the Exynos 1280 used in various mid-range Galaxy smartphones, presumably Exynos 1380, which is expected to be used in some mid-range Galaxy smartphones in 2023.
