CTOnews.com August 26 news, Microsoft recently released Windows 11 preview version of Build 25188 update for Dev development channel. Microsoft is trying new touch keyboard settings in this version, and Windows Terminal is now the default terminal. This release includes a set of good fixes to improve the overall experience of members of the Windows preview experience.

Although not mentioned in the log, Microsoft may have begun to make some security enhancements to Windows 11. Twitter user Xeno found a new update driver for Microsoft Security Core Startup (msseccore.sys) in this preview. The updated driver version number is 10.0.25188.1000, which clearly indicates that it has been updated to the latest version.

Although it is not possible to confirm what changes have been made in the driver, many recent vulnerabilities in UEFI and secure startup may prompt Microsoft to take action to further enhance the startup process.

Back in February, firmware from Microsoft, Intel and more companies were found to be vulnerable. In late April, several Lenovo laptop models were affected by a security issue that allowed attackers to change security startup settings. Recently, it has been found that the system is vulnerable to GRUB BootHole vulnerabilities, although Microsoft has fixed the problem with its KB5012170 patch update.
