City Update 01 is now available free of charge to all users, the first ever version targeted at a specific city rather than a country. In the update, Microsoft introduced five transformed German cities: Hanover, Dortmund, Dusseldorf, Bonn and Cologne.

In addition, Microsoft revealed that the upcoming 40th Anniversary version of Microsoft Flight Simulation will be released on November 11, 2022, which will be made available to users and Xbox Game Pass subscribers free of charge.
