Starting August 8, the company will donate $10 for each Apple Pay purchase in Apple.com, Apple Store apps and Apple retail stores.

Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, explained that Apple is proud to work with organizations and communities dedicated to the National Park Service:

"whenever I visit national parks-as I did recently in Yosemite and glaciers-I can feel awe, serenity and reverence that only nature can inspire. We are proud to work with the organizations and communities that maintain our parks so that we can learn about their history and share them with the world. These treasures are well worth protecting for every generation now and in the future. "

"National parks in the United States are a gift we share," said Will Shafroth, president and CEO of the National Park Foundation. "Apple's partnership and generous commitment help ensure that everyone finds themselves in national parks and feels welcome in places that belong to all of us."

Apple will donate $10 to the National Park Service for each Apple Pay purchase made at Apple Store stores, through Apple.com and through the Apple Store app. Donations are capped at $1000000 (about 6.85 million yuan).

CTOnews.com learned that in addition to donations, Apple celebrates National Parks Day in Apple podcasts (which provide selected content) and Apple maps. As previously reported, Apple also launched the Apple Watch "National Park" event Challenge, which will be held on August 27.

"Apple announces Apple Watch National Park event Challenge, completing 1.6km hiking, walking, running or wheelchair exercise on August 27th."
