Jack Dorsey, founder and former CEO of Twitter, reportedly tweeted on Thursday that he regretted turning the social media platform into a company.

"the biggest problem and my biggest regret is that it has become a company," Dorsey said in response to whether Twitter developed according to his vision. "

If Elon Musk's acquisition of Twitter had been completed, Dorsey would have received $978 million (about 6.709 billion yuan).

Asked under what structure he wanted Twitter to operate, Dorsey said it should be an "agreement" and Twitter should not be owned by a company.

If Twitter were really a protocol, its mode of operation would be very similar to that of email. E-mail is not controlled by a central entity, and people using different email providers can communicate with each other.

Twitter is facing multiple difficulties. The company sued Musk for failing to fulfill a $44 billion (301.84 billion yuan) takeover offer. A former Twitter executive also became a whistle-blower, accusing Twitter of misleading US federal regulators about the security of hackers and fake accounts.
