CTOnews.com, August 26 (Xinhua)-- Sony has announced a worldwide increase in the price of its PlayStation 5 game console, with a price increase of 400 yuan in China-with the exception of the United States. In Europe, the price of the console soared by 50 euros (about 341.5 yuan). The price change applies to digital and ultra-high definition Blu-ray CD-ROM drives. The move has led many buyers to worry that the price of Xbox consoles will also rise soon, but they can now breathe a sigh of relief.

According to Windows Central, a statement issued by Microsoft has confirmed that there are no current plans to increase the price of Xbox, and that its suggested retail price will remain unchanged regardless of the currency value:

"We continue to evaluate our business and provide our fans with excellent game choices. The suggested retail price of Xbox Series S is still $299 (£250,300) and Xbox Series X is $499 (£450,500)."

It should be noted that Microsoft says it has no plans to raise prices at present, but that doesn't mean there will be no price increases in the future. This is probably a short-term guarantee.
