TikTok, a popular short video app, confirmed that it is testing a new feature called "Nearby" among some users in Southeast Asian markets, which allows users to view videos posted by nearby users directly.

Social media consultant Matt Navarra (Matt Navarra) first posted the news on Twitter. "TikTok is developing an information stream called 'nearby', which will be combined with a new feature to add location tags to videos," he wrote in the article. The addition of the "nearby" feature allows TikTok to have the functions of social platforms such as Instagram and Snapchat, allowing users to access relevant content based on their location information.

In addition to "nearby," TikTok is testing a feature called "Shop" in Indonesia that allows users to browse and buy a variety of products through the platform, according to a report released in June.
