According to CTOnews.com8 news on March 24, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers today released a brief analysis of the sales of the top 10 automobile manufacturers from January to July 2022, among which SAIC ranked first with sales of more than 2.5 million vehicles, far ahead of all car companies.

In terms of detailed data, from January to July 2022, the top 10 car companies by sales were SAIC, FAW, Dongfeng, GAC GROUP, Changan Automobile, BYD, BAIC, Geely Holdings, Great Wall Motor and Chery Automobile. The ten car companies sold a total of 12.487 million vehicles from January to July this year, accounting for 86.3 per cent of total car sales.

Compared with the same period last year, BYD, which ranked sixth, saw the most significant growth in sales, more than doubling. Chery and GAC GROUP are growing rapidly in double digits, while SAIC and Geely Holdings are growing slightly, while other companies are declining.

CTOnews.com learned that with the development of electric vehicles, the sales of electric vehicles occupy more and more market share. According to the global ranking of new car sales in the first half of 2022 released by research firm MarkLines in August, BYD, which focuses on pure electric vehicles, sold 640000 vehicles in the first half of this year, up 160% from a year earlier and ranked 14th in new car sales.
