CTOnews.com August 24 news, at the 2022 RISC-V China Summit today, Ali Pingtou released the first high-performance RISC-V chip platform "No Sword 600" and SoC prototype "Shadow 1520", which is compatible with the dragon lizard Linux operating system and successfully ran LibreOffice for the first time, setting a new series of global RISC-V records.

Meng Jianyi, chairman of the 2022 RISC-V China Summit and vice president of Pingtou Semiconductor, said: "in order to hatch more high-performance RISC-V chips faster and better, meet the needs of more different industries, and enrich the upper layer applications of RISC-V, Pingtou launched Sword-less 600s in an innovative way of 'platform + SoC prototype', promoting the development of RISC-V hardware and software side by side."

According to reports, based on the Wujian 600 software and hardware full stack platform, developers and manufacturers can quickly develop RISC-V chips to promote a new era of 2GHz high-performance RISC-V edge and cloud applications.

Wujian 600 platform is the world's highest RISC-V performance SoC chip design platform: it supports 4-core high-performance RISC-V processors, the highest main frequency can reach 2.5GHz, realizing the comprehensive optimization of CPU+XPU heterogeneous architecture; supports 64-bit LPDDR4X, the highest throughput 4266MT / s; integrates 4TOPs's Int8 AI computing power; the whole process meets GP TEE international security standards. Wujian 600 platform is expected to help chip companies significantly reduce chip development costs and risks, and significantly shorten the research and development cycle.

CTOnews.com learned that based on the Sword-less platform, the flat head has "proofed" the shadow 1520, which is good enough to cover edge computing, artificial intelligence, image recognition, multimedia and other scenarios. At present, Shadow has launched an application in Ali, and in the future, it can also be provided to developers who have not yet received customized chips to develop systems and software on Shadow in advance, so as to further shorten the time for mass production.

On the platform without Sword 600, Pingtou, Dragon lizard Community and PLCT Lab of Institute of Software of Chinese Academy of Sciences jointly optimized the software and hardware stack, completed more than 3000 basic packages of RISC-V and dragon lizard operating system, and ran large desktop-level software such as FireFox browser and LibreOffice on Shadow 1520 for the first time, as well as NodeJS and JAVA-based applications such as Hexo and Open Rocket, which greatly expanded the imagination of RISC-V.

It is reported that at present, in the RISC-V International Foundation, Pingtou has participated in the standard-setting of 29 technical directions and led 10 technical groups.
