Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
CTOnews.com, August 24 (Xinhua)-- according to previous revelations, Apple plans to hold its first autumn launch event on Wednesday, September 7 (in the early morning of September 8, Beijing time). The event will focus on the release of iPhone 14 series models and Apple Watch Series 8.
With only two weeks to go before the iPhone 14 launch, early data suggest that Apple will once again stimulate existing iPhone users to upgrade. In fact, a new survey released this week shows that more users plan to upgrade to the iPhone 14 series than they planned to upgrade to the iPhone 13 series last year.
Savings released the survey based on a small sample of 1500 current iPhone users. According to the data, 14 per cent of existing iPhone users plan to upgrade to the iPhone 14 series this year, up from 10 per cent of the same survey before the release of the iPhone 13 series last year.
According to the survey, more than 2/3 of the users planning to upgrade currently own iPhone for less than two years. In addition, the 1/3 users who plan to upgrade currently hold iPhone for only one year or less. Only 13% of planned upgrade users said they had been using the current iPhone for more than three years.
The proportion of current mobile phone models of users who plan to upgrade to iPhone 14: iPhone 13 is 17%, XR 12 is 29%, iPhone 11 is 24%, SE 2020 is 3%, XR, XS is 18% iPhone 8 and 9% before.
Some of the most common reasons people plan to upgrade include faster processors (61 per cent), improved storage capacity (54 per cent) and 4800 megapixel cameras (53 per cent). This seems to indicate a strong interest in the iPhone 14 Pro and the expectation of major camera and processor upgrades, which are not prominent on the standard iPhone 14.
For iPhone users who did not plan to upgrade, 86 per cent of respondents said their current phones could still be used, while 60 per cent said the upgrade cost was too high.
The survey proves in some ways that more former iPhone users are planning to upgrade to the iPhone 14 series this year than to the iPhone 13 series.
As the iPhone 14 series cycle approaches, Apple faces many different kinds of resistance. These include broader economic problems, inflation, supply chain shortages and ongoing blockades associated with the COVID-19 outbreak.
CTOnews.com has learned that Apple also plans to increase the price of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max by $100, according to analysts' reports. This will bring the starting price of the iPhone 14 Pro to $1099 and that of the iPhone 14 Pro Max to $1199.
However, the newly added iPhone 14 Max is a major change to the iPhone product lineup. This will be the first time Apple has launched a 6.7-inch iPhone for less than $1000. Of course, this model may not be as Pro in function, but it will be the most attractive choice for users who want the screen as large as possible.
Analyst: Apple iPhone 14 Pro / Pro Max will increase by $100,000,000, iPhone 14 Standard Edition price will remain unchanged.
