Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

Sina Science and Technology News Beijing time on August 24 morning news, local time Tuesday, Twitter CEO Palag Agrawal (Parag Agrawal) sent an email to all employees to defend the company. Earlier, a former Twitter executive accused Twitter of ignoring some major security vulnerabilities and not knowing how many robot accounts were on the platform.

Peiter Zatko, a former Twitter executive in charge of information security, has filed a whistle-blower complaint with Congress and regulators. Lawyers for Elon Musk, Tesla's chief executive, are also seeking more information to help Mr Musk withdraw from a $44 billion deal to buy Twitter signed in April.

Twitter denied the charges on Tuesday. Zatek was fired in January because of poor performance, the company said. Mr. Agrawal said employees should not be distracted by media coverage and said he would speak at the staff meeting on Wednesday. Mr Zatek has yet to respond.

John Tye, chief information disclosure officer at Whistleblower Aid, an organisation that provides assistance to whistleblowers within the company, said in an email: "Zatek adheres to all the information he has disclosed and the work ethic and leadership he has shown during his career is self-evident. The focus should be on the fact of the revelation, not on personal attacks on the whistleblower."

The following is a complete email from Agrawal to Twitter employees:

Teams.

Zatek, a former executive who was fired in January 2022 for poor leadership and poor performance, reported allegations of privacy, security and data protection practices at Twitter. We are reading publicly published and edited allegations, but so far we have only seen an erroneous narrative, full of inconsistencies and inaccuracies, and a lack of important background.

I know that these reports are frustrating and confusing because Zatek is responsible for many aspects of the work. However, more than six months after his dismissal, he now inaccurately describes these jobs. However, none of this will change the important work you do and will continue to do to protect the privacy and security of your customers and their data. Just this year, we have significantly accelerated the pace of progress through more input and outstanding leadership from Lea Kissner, Damien Kieran and Nick Caldwell. Work in this area remains an important priority for us. If you want to know more about our methods, you can check the summary here.

Given the current public interest in Twitter, it is expected that we will continue to see more news reports in the coming days-which will only make our work more difficult. I know that all members of the team are proud of the work we do together and the values that lead us. We will do our best to defend our integrity as a company and clarify the facts at the same time.

See you at the # OneTeam tomorrow.
