On August 24, foreign media quoted people familiar with the matter as saying that as more employees choose to telecommute, ride-hailing company Lyft plans to reduce the size of office space in the US market and sublet some of its offices.

Lyft will sublet some of its offices in San Francisco, New York City, Seattle and Nashville, according to a person familiar with the matter who spoke on condition of anonymity. Currently, Lyft has a total office space of 615000 square feet, and the company plans to sublease 44% of it to other companies.

In March, Lyft decided to implement a permanent "fully flexible" office policy that allows employees to choose where to work and live.

"although we still believe that face-to-face communication is important, after we moved to a flexible work strategy, many team members chose to telecommute," a spokesman said in an emailed statement. " Lyft says it has "found a lot of office space that is not as efficiently used as it used to be".
