Beijing time, August 22, it is reported that NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) has identified a safe landing site for Artemis III to land on the moon, which is 13 areas near the South Pole of the moon, and there are multiple safe landing sites in each area.

It is understood that because a specific landing site is closely related to the timing of the launch window, NASA needs to consider the terrain slope, earth communication convenience and lighting conditions, and the agency has used decades of publications and lunar scientific achievements to evaluate these conditions.

According to sources, Artemis III is scheduled to be launched sometime in 2025. When the target launch date is set, NASA will choose a landing site in each area, which means that we will not know the final landing site until the final launch date is announced.
