According to CTOnews.com news on August 22, China Telecom today released operating data for July 2022, with 386 million mobile subscribers in July, including 237 million 5G package subscribers, a net increase of 5.68 million in the same month, 176 million cable broadband subscribers and 105 million fixed telephone subscribers.

CTOnews.com learned that China Telecom's mobile communications service revenue reached 99 billion yuan in the first half of the year, an increase of 6.0 per cent over the same period last year. The number of mobile users reached 384 million, a net increase of 11.79 million. The number of 5G package users reached 232 million, with a penetration rate of 60.3%.

In the first half of the year, China Telecom's fixed network and smart home service income reached 59.9 billion yuan, an increase of 4.4% over the same period last year, of which broadband access revenue reached 40.8 billion yuan, an increase of 7.1% over the same period last year. The number of wired broadband users reached 175 million, of which 20.68 million were gigabit broadband users, and the penetration rate increased to 11.8%.

According to a report by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, by the end of July, the total number of mobile phone users of the three basic telecommunications enterprises had reached 1.672 billion, a net increase of 29.41 million over the end of last year. Of these, 5G mobile phone users reached 475 million, a net increase of 120 million over the end of last year, accounting for 28.4 percent of mobile phone users and an increase of 6.8 percent over the end of last year.

By the end of July, the total number of fixed Internet broadband access users of the three basic telecommunications enterprises had reached 566 million, a net increase of 30.7 million over the end of last year. Among them, the number of fixed Internet broadband access users with 100Mbps and above access rates reached 531 million, accounting for 93.8 percent of the total users, an increase of 0.8 percentage points over the end of last year; and the number of fixed Internet broadband access users with 1000Mbps access rates reached 65.7 million, a net increase of 31.12 million over the end of last year, accounting for 11.6 percent of the total users.
