CTOnews.com August 22, earlier this year, Microsoft announced many new features of Windows 11, including direct text manipulation in Teams, file explorer tag support, and so on. The new tagged file explorer has been used for testing, but most users are still waiting.

Tag integration is one of the most important functional updates for Windows File Explorer over the years. The file explorer interface has remained largely unchanged since the release of Windows 8, and with the next update to Windows 11, Microsoft is adding tabs and a new Home home view to change file explorer.

CTOnews.com learned that "tag" integration makes it easier for users to work on multiple folders and directories, and that File Explorer's new Home view can also view recently used files, including from OneDrive documents and pictures.

Microsoft has begun to introduce File Explorer tagging to Windows preview users because the company is preparing for the fall 2022 version. However, it has not yet been officially released to the production channel.

According to the report, the Windows 11 version of 22H2 will be released at the end of September 2022, with a more extensive launch planned for October to November. Currently, tagged file explorer will not be included in the next feature update.

In fact, tag support for File Explorer is currently missing in the RTM build of Windows 11 22H2. With the release of Windows 11 version of 22H2 in September, Microsoft may plan to turn on tag integration in File Explorer with upcoming cumulative updates.

This means that tagging support for File Explorer will come at a later date (possibly October or November).

At the same time, Microsoft fixed several file explorer failures and taskbar errors Bug in the latest Windows 11 Dev preview. For example, fixed a duplicate folder in File Explorer. Also fixed an issue that prevented some users from dragging through the mouse or touch in the left half of the file explorer title bar.

These fixes are used in conjunction with tagged file explorer and can be used by preview users on Dev channels.
