According to the website, research institution TrendForce recently predicted that the demand for about 4-inch wafers for large Micro LED displays will reach 1.14 million by 2026, with an estimated wafer output value of US $2.7 billion and an average annual compound growth rate of about 241% from 2021 to 2026.

The agency pointed out that large-scale Micro LED displays have not yet achieved large-scale production, and key technical bottlenecks such as pixel uniformity, mass transfer efficiency and metallization rate of glass backplane need to be broken through.

TrendForce said that as Micro LED large displays break through technology and cost bottlenecks, Micro LED large displays will accelerate their penetration. In the commercial market, the agency is optimistic about cinema screens and indoor public display applications, and in the home market, Micro LED is expected to become the first choice for home theater-grade high-end products.
