CTOnews.com, August 20 (Xinhua)-- Mercedes-Benz has unveiled its new EQS SUV model, which will go on sale later this year.

The new Mercedes-Benz EQS positioning seven-seat luxury SUV starts at $130000 (about RMB 886600). The all-wheel drive version provides 536hp, the single-motor rear wheel version has a range of up to 410mph (about 659.83 km), is equipped with a 107.8kWh battery and supports fast charging (200kW), which can be recharged from 10 to 80 per cent in 30 minutes.

Mercedes hopes to compete with companies such as Tesla and Lucid with their EQS sedan, but for now, EQS SUV is targeting Tesla Model X, entering the relatively niche seven-seater electric car market.

Like the EQS, the new car has three screens, mainly for drivers, center consoles and passengers, and the optional rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions are more powerful, up to 536 horsepower, higher than the 355 horsepower of the single-motor version.

The Mercedes EQS SUV, which is bulky, more than 16.5ft long and weighs 7716 pounds, offers all the features you can expect in a $100000 luxury car, such as passenger seats with massage and heating functions, displays, iconic interior lighting, and so on.

There is more interior space (especially in the third row) and more passenger comfort design than the Tesla Model Xpene EQs SUV, but its power is much lower than that of the almost expensive Tesla Model X Plaid. However, Mercedes is developing an AMG model that is expected to compete with Tesla.
