Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, August 20 (Xinhua)-- in June this year, Cloudflare confirmed that there was the largest HTTPS distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack in history, but it successfully stopped the record-breaking attack before it suffered any actual damage. The company revealed that it recorded 2600 DDoS attacks per second.

Google just reported that it had discovered a large-scale DDOS attack in which it tried to shut down its Cloud Armor customer service, peaking at 46 million requests per second, equivalent to the previous record of 176.92 per cent. This makes it the largest reported seven-tier distributed denial of service attack ever reported.

Google explained that at peak times, this attack is equivalent to a full day of Wikipedia visits in 10 seconds, so being able to resist such a powerful DDoS attack is an incredible feat.

According to reports, Google Cloud Armor regularly protects applications (layer 7) and websites from such Internet attacks by using load balancing technology to keep Web services running even in the face of these challenges.

CTOnews.com learned that Google Cloud Armor claims to support more than 1 million queries per second, but this time they successfully handled the burden of 46 million queries per second.

Google reported that Cloud Armor successfully detected the DDoS attack and recommended a rule to customers to stop the attack, which worked well. A few minutes later, when the attacker realized that the attack had failed, the data request dropped.

However, Google points out that the number of DDoS attacks is growing exponentially and is provided by a large number of malicious robots, so the record may not last long.
