Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens OC_Formula and Wu Yanzu in South China for their clue delivery! CTOnews.com8 20 news, according to DigiTimes reported in June this year, due to not optimistic about the second half of this year's motherboard market, Asustek has lowered its motherboard annual sales forecast by 24%. In addition to the shrinking motherboard market in the future, Asustek also has to face the problem of motherboards that have been sold.

At the end of October last year, Intel released the 12th generation cool chip, followed by Asustek in November last year to release the ROG Maximus Z690 Hero motherboard. Shortly after the release, a video blogger found that a capacitor on the motherboard was incorrectly soldered, and Asustek installed it upside down. When Asustek discovered the problem, it promised to work with government agencies to carry out the replacement program.

Today, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Asustek finally officially announced a recall of the faulty motherboard. According to a notice issued by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, about 10, 000 motherboards need to be recalled, and the serial numbers of these problematic motherboards begin with MA, MB and MC. If the user keeps the box of the motherboard, the serial number can be found on the label next to the 24-pin ATX power connector.

In addition, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission said there had been 10 reports of overheating and melting of the motherboard, but fortunately no one was injured. At present, Asustek has not yet launched to recall the web page of the motherboard, so users may need to deal with the problem through customer service.

CTOnews.com learned that Asustek announced a recall of the faulty ROG Maximus Z690 Hero motherboard in December last year. At the same time, Asustek judged that there was a problem with a production line of the motherboard, while the ROG Maximus Z690 Hero motherboards sold in China were not affected.
