At present, Tesla's German factory employs more than 5000 people. In order to ensure that the factory can run two shifts smoothly, the factory plans to hire more workers to operate the equipment in August. According to RBB, Tesla's German factory will eventually operate on three shifts, allowing the factory to operate 24 hours a day.

Currently, Tesla plans to produce 3000 cars a week by October 2022. Meanwhile, Drew Baglin, Tesla's senior vice president of power systems and energy engineering, said on the earnings call that Tesla's goal is to enable the German plant to produce 5000 cars a week by the end of this year.

Zachary Kirkhorn, chief financial officer of Tesla, said that although more production was lost in the third quarter than expected, Tesla was still committed to capacity growth of 50 per cent this year. Although this goal has become more difficult, it can still be achieved with strong execution.

Earlier, Tesla's German factory suspended production for two weeks to adjust some casting machines that produce parts for the rear chassis of cars, as well as to install new machines. At present, the factory is already capable of producing 1000 cars a week.

CTOnews.com learned that Tesla's Shanghai super factory also completed capacity upgrades in July. After upgrading, the plant has an annual production capacity of more than 750000 vehicles, making it Tesla's current super factory with the highest capacity.
