CTOnews.com news on August 11, the China Automobile Association released a brief description of the production and sales of the automobile industry in July 2022. Data show that in July, automobile production and sales completed 245.5 and 2.42 million vehicles respectively, down 1.8% and 3.3% respectively from the previous month, and an increase of 31.5% and 29.7% respectively over the same period last year. From January to July, automobile production and sales reached 1457.1 million and 14.477 million respectively, with production up 0.8 per cent and sales down 2 per cent year-on-year.

In July, the production and sales of new energy vehicles reached 617,000 and 593000 respectively, an increase of 1.2 times over the same period last year. Of these, the production and sales of pure electric vehicles completed 472,000 and 457000 respectively, an increase of 100% and 1.1 times respectively over the same period last year; the production and sales of plug-in hybrid vehicles completed 144,000 and 135000 vehicles, an increase of 1.820 times and 1.7 times respectively over the same period last year; and fuel cell vehicles completed 292 vehicles, 10 and 245 vehicles, respectively, up 4.6 times and 13.4% respectively over the same period last year. From January to July, the production and sales of new energy vehicles reached 327.9 million and 3.194 million respectively, an increase of 1.2 times over the same period last year. Among them, the production and marketing of pure electric vehicles reached 257.4 million and 251. 5% respectively. The production and sales of plug-in hybrid vehicles reached 720 million and 674000 respectively, an increase of 1.9 times and 1.7 times respectively, and that of fuel cell vehicles reached 2094 and 1633 respectively, an increase of 2.1 times and 1.3 times respectively.

In July, automobile companies exported 290000 vehicles, a record high in a row, with the export volume increasing by 16.5% month-on-month and 67% compared with the same period last year. In terms of car models, passenger vehicles exported 242000 this month, up 22 percent from the previous month and 73.1 percent over the same period last year; commercial vehicle exports were 49000, down 5.1 percent from the previous month and up 42.2 percent from the same period last year. The export of new energy vehicles was 54000, an increase of 89.9% over the previous month and 37.6% over the same period last year, showing a momentum of rapid growth. From January to July, automobile enterprises exported 1.509 million vehicles, an increase of 50.6 percent over the same period last year, and exports for the whole year are expected to exceed 2.4 million, in line with expectations at the beginning of the year. In terms of vehicle models, the export of passenger vehicles was 1.186 million, up 54 percent over the same period last year, and the export of commercial vehicles was 322000, an increase of 39.2 percent over the same period last year.

CTOnews.com learned that data from the China Automobile Association showed that in July, China's power battery load 24.2GWh increased by 114.2% year-on-year, down 10.5% from the previous month. Among them, ternary battery 9.8GWh accounted for 40.7% of the total installed capacity, up 80.4% from the same period last year, down 15.0% from the previous year; lithium iron phosphate battery 14.3GWh, accounting for 59.3% of the total installed capacity, up 147.2% from the same period last year, down 7.0% from the previous year. From January to July, the cumulative installed capacity of power batteries in China was 134.3GWh, an increase of 110.6% over the same period last year. Among them, the cumulative loading of ternary batteries 55.4GWh, accounting for 41.3 percent of the total installed capacity, increased by 55.7 percent over the same period last year; the cumulative loading of lithium iron phosphate batteries 78.7GWh, accounting for 58.6 percent of the total installed capacity, increased by 180.9 percent over the same period last year, showing a momentum of rapid growth.
