Recently, Ji Feng, executive research director of Shangtang Technology and Big Niu in the field of computer vision, left his job and joined the Department of Electronic Engineering of Tsinghua University as an associate professor.

At present, Dai Jifeng's name has appeared on the official website of Tsinghua Electronics Department, and his personal website has updated his resume, and his position has been changed from Shangtang Executive Research Director to Associate Professor in the Department of Electronic Engineering of Tsinghua University.

Dai Jifeng studied in the Department of Automation at Tsinghua University and received his doctorate in the Department of Automation in 2014 under Professor Zhou Jie. During his doctorate, he visited the UCLA Lab of the University of California, Los Angeles, and worked with Zhu Songchun and Wu Yingnian.

From 2014 to 2019, Dai Jifeng served as Gao Chief Research Manager in the Visual Computing Group of Microsoft Research Asia, working with Sun Jian. Since then, he has been the executive research director of Shangtang Science and Technology Research Institute.

Dai Jifeng's research focuses on the deep learning of advanced vision. His best-known masterpiece is R-FCN, which he published on NIPS in 2016, with more than 5300 citations. There are also Deformable ConvNets published on ICCV 2017 and Visual-Linguistic BERT (VL-BERT) published on ICLR 2020. Google academic shows that Dai Jifeng has been cited more than 20500 times. In addition, Dai Jifeng served as a member of the editorial board of IJCV and a senior program member of AAAI 2018, as well as a reviewer of CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, ICLR and periodicals such as TPAMI, IJCV, CVIU, TIP and TMM.

Prior to this, the news of Dai Jifeng's job-hopping from Microsoft Asia Research to Shangtang Technology has sparked heated discussion. According to the answer of Ji Feng on Zhihu at that time, the reason why he left Microsoft Asia Research was that "he didn't want to just do pure scientific research, but wanted to try to do business and expand his professional skills."
