According to Foss Patents, a well-known foreign intellectual property blog, Apple's second attempt to overturn Colombia's ban on the sale of 5G iPhone and iPad ended in failure after a court in Colombia rejected Apple's petition.

The first attempt was an emergency motion filed by Apple in a federal court in Texas. Apple asked Ericsson to compensate it for any losses caused by the Columbia court ban, but the request was rejected by the court.

It is reported that in April this year, Ericsson submitted a $50,000 deposit for enforcement after a Colombian court ruled that Apple infringed a 5G patent. The court issued a preliminary injunction on Apple's Columbia subsidiary in July, banning the sale and import of Apple's 5G devices iPhone and iPad in the country.

The dispute between Ericsson and Apple has begun around the world. According to statistics, Ericsson has filed patent infringement lawsuits against Apple in at least six jurisdictions, including the United States (ITC and District Court), Germany, the Netherlands, Brazil, Colombia and the United Kingdom because of the failure of negotiations to renew the seven-year telecoms patent license contract first agreed in 2015.
