These 16 satellites are mainly used in commercial remote sensing, atmospheric imaging and other fields.

According to CCTV, China launched a total of 36 commercial satellites in 2021, while more than 50 will be launched this year. With the increasing demand for commercial satellites, the production and launch of commercial satellites in China are also accelerating. China's commercial aerospace has formed the development of the whole industry chain from development to launch, operation and application.

CTOnews.com learned that Jilin-1 is China's first independently developed commercial remote sensing satellite system, developed by Changchun Institute of Optics and Precision Machinery and Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The first group of satellites was launched by a long March 2d carrier rocket from the Jiuquan Satellite launch Center at 12:13 on October 7, 2015. As of August 2022, the Jilin-1 satellite project had launched 21 times, with 70 satellites in orbit. It can make 1720 revisits a day to any place in the world.

Jia Hongguang, deputy general manager of Changguang Satellite, said: at present, its orders mainly come from universities, enterprises and local governments in China, of which there is a great demand in the field of natural resources monitoring, and follow-up orders for 60 satellites are being implemented.

He believes that by the end of 2023, the total number of constellations will reach 140, and by the end of the 14th five-year Plan, it will exceed 300.
