CTOnews.com August 10 news, Hon Hai released second-quarter results. According to the financial report, the company's second-quarter revenue was 1.5098 trillion New Taiwan dollars (about 339.705 billion yuan), an annual increase of 7 percent and an annual increase of 12 percent. Net profit was 33.3 billion New Taiwan dollars (about 7.492 billion yuan), up 12 percent from a year earlier, and is estimated to be 30.77 billion New Taiwan dollars. Hon Hai made an operating profit of NT $44.3 billion in the second quarter, with an estimated NT $36.84 billion. Hon Hai earned NT $2.40 per share in the second quarter, with an estimated NT $2.22.

Hon Hai's second-quarter gross margin was 6.4 per cent, better than 6.02 per cent in the first quarter and 6.03 per cent in the same period last year. The profit rate of 2.94% was better than 2.61% in the first quarter and 2.4% in the same period last year. The net interest rate was 2.21%, better than 2.09% in the first quarter and 2.2% in the same period last year.

CTOnews.com learned that Hon Hai's second-quarter net profit exceeded market expectations, thanks to strong demand for its cloud computing products. Hon Hai's shares have risen 5.8% this year, giving the company a market capitalization of $50.3 billion.
