CTOnews.com, August 10 (Xinhua) in 2022, Apple continues to lead the 5G smartphone market in the Q2 global 5G smartphone market, Samsung has become the world's fastest-growing major manufacturer, vivo and OPPO have seen double-digit declines in 5G smartphone shipments, and Glory and Lenovo-Motorola have seen the fastest growth in shipments in India and China, grabbing share from OPPO and vivo, according to research firm Strategy Analytics.

At the end of July, Strategy Analytics reported that global smartphone shipments of Q2 fell 7% year-on-year to 291 million units in 2022. Among them, Samsung ranks first in the global smartphone market with a 22% market share. Apple ranks second with a 16% market share, the highest performance of Q2 in the past decade. Xiaomi, OPPO (including one plus) and vivo remain in the top five.

Samsung shipped 62.5 million units, with a market share of 21.5%, a year-on-year increase of 9.5%.

Apple shipped 47.5 million units, with a market share of 16.3%, up 3.3% from a year earlier.

Xiaomi shipped 39.5 million units, with a market share of 13.6%, down 25.2% from the same period last year.

OPPO shipped 27.7 million units, with a market share of 9.5%, down 26.1% from the same period last year.

Vivo shipped 24.9 million units, with a market share of 8.6%, down 21% from the same period last year.

Demand for Samsung's new flagship Galaxy S22 series continues to be strong, especially for the higher-priced S22 Ultra model. In addition, sales of Apple's iPhone 13 series continued to grow in the United States, China and other key markets during the quarter.
