According to news on the morning of August 10, Beijing time, according to a document submitted by Tesla to the Office of the Commissioner of the Independent Commission against Corruption in Ontario, Canada, Tesla is lobbying the provincial government. this is part of its efforts to establish an "advanced manufacturing plant" in Canada.

The amendment document submitted on July 18 shows that the company's Canadian department is working with the government to "identify opportunities for industrial facility licensing reform."

Tesla and the Office of the Ontario Minister of Economic Development, Job creation and Trade did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Canadian Industry Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne said in May this year that he had very active discussions with some participants with a view to developing an electric vehicle supply chain in Canada.

At a time when Tesla has been trying to boost car production, Elon Musk, the company's chief executive, shouted "Canada" to shareholders half-jokingly last week. "We have a lot of Canadians, I'm half Canadian, maybe I should [set up a factory in Canada]," he says.

He said the company could announce the construction of a new plant later this year, adding that the company could eventually have 10-12 super factories. Tesla has two factories in the United States, one in Germany and one in China.
