CTOnews.com, August 10, according to two Form 4 documents submitted on August 9 by the U.S. Securities Regulatory Commission (SEC) website, Tesla CEO Elon Musk (Elon Musk) sold a total of 7.92 million shares of the company on August 5, August 8 and August 9, valued at nearly $6.89 billion (about 46.508 billion yuan). At present, Musk still holds 155039144 shares of Tesla, worth $131.7 billion (about 888.975 billion yuan) at today's closing price of $850 per share.

In the early morning of August 5, Beijing time, Tesla held the annual shareholders' meeting at the Texas Super Factory in the United States and voted on 13 proposals. Among them, the fourth proposal, that is, the proposal that Tesla will split shares in accordance with 3: 1, will be approved by the shareholders' meeting, which means that Tesla will split shares for the second time in two years. Tesla's share price has not risen significantly in after-hours trading, but Tesla's share price has risen more than 20 per cent since the release of second-quarter results on July 21.

CTOnews.com learned that Musk had sold Tesla shares several times in order to buy Twitter for $44 billion. But now that Musk is no longer interested in Twitter, it is not clear why he continues to sell Tesla shares. However, some investors still think that Musk may further reduce his stake in Tesla. Mike Lucas, CEO of TrueMark Investment, has previously said that Musk may sell Tesla's shares no matter how the Twitter deal ends.
