Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

Thanks to CTOnews.com netizen OC_Formula for clue delivery! CTOnews.com Microsoft announced a critical bug in Windows 11 and Windows Server 2022 on its website, indicating that users of its latest desktop operating system may experience data corruption problems.

Microsoft said the affected systems were powered by processors that support the latest Vector Advanced Encryption Standard (VAES) instruction set, specifically Intel Ice Lake 10th Generation and above and IceLake-SP 3rd Generation processors, as well as AMD Zen 4 architecture processors.

CTOnews.com understands that Microsoft has released patches that address this issue in Windows 11's May 24, 2022 preview and June 14, 2022 security patches. However, this patch is not perfect, after applying these updates, AES-based operations such as BitLocker, TLS, disk throughput, etc. in the system may be half as fast as before.

Users will then need to update further to the June 23, 2022 preview or July 12, 2022 security patch to fully address the performance issue.
