On August 9, Shunyu Optical Technology announced on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange that shipments of mobile camera modules in July were 36.79 million, down 33.5% from a year earlier, down 33.5% from a year earlier. Shipments of 8912 mobile lens modules in July were down 14.9% from a year earlier.

Earlier, Shunyu Optical Technology announced that the Group expected to achieve a profit attributable to shareholders of about 1.344 billion to 1.478 billion yuan in the six months ended June 30, 2022, a decrease of about 45 to 50 per cent compared with about 2.688 billion yuan in the six months ended June 30, 2021.

The Board believes that the decrease in expectations is mainly due to a variety of force majeure factors during the first half of 2022: weak demand in the smartphone market and reduced configuration of smartphone cameras, resulting in a year-on-year decline in shipments of the Group's mobile lens and mobile camera modules, and increased average selling price and gross profit margin pressure; and the group's car lens and car module growth rate was lower than expected.
