According to Xi'an Optical Machinery, two sets of satellite laser communication systems developed by Xi'an were successfully launched in Jiuquan on May 20 this year, and a series of work such as power-on self-test was completed, waiting for in-orbit testing.

From July 9 to 21, the research team carried out the on-orbit verification of the satellite laser communication system using a small number of satellite measurement and control arcs, and successfully realized the stable construction of the double-satellite link from 600km. Since then, the data transmission of the double satellite communication load has been carried out smoothly, and the high-speed data communication of the communication rate 2.5Gbps has been successfully realized, and the bit error rate of the system is zero.

From July 27th to 30th, the laser communication system of Xi'an Institute of Optical Machinery realized long-term continuous and stable inter-satellite communication (zero error code) with communication rate 2.5Gbps, communication distance 600km and communication time 145minutes, which further expanded the ability of inter-satellite laser link to carry actual data services.

In addition, based on the inter-satellite laser communication link, Xi'an Optical Machinery Institute laser communication system successfully demonstrated a variety of data services such as double-star routing establishment, video IP telephone, service data flow transmission and so on, and achieved zero packet loss in 460,000 packets of data transmission. In the future, the team will conduct an on-orbit demonstration of data services for inter-satellite distances 2500km and 4500km.

According to Xi'an Optical Machinery, satellite laser communication technology is a new communication technology with rapid development in recent years, and it is currently in the stage of on-orbit technology verification and application demonstration. Due to the huge application prospect, many countries have invested huge research resources.
