On the afternoon of August 9, Wang Jun, vice president of Huawei's wireless network product line and chief scientist of 6G, delivered a keynote speech at the 5G-A / 6G forum of the World 5G Congress.

He mentioned that 6G's vision is to move beyond people and things to the Alliance of everything. The 6G definition is to increase intelligence and perception on the basis of the upgrade of the three scenarios of 5G.

Typical application scenarios of 6G include: distributed networked machine learning and interconnected AI, perception, location and imaging, human-centric immersive communication, smart city and smart life, fully functional industry 4.0 and its evolution, global coverage of mobile services.

In terms of spectrum, 6G will be multi-layer spectrum. The low frequency band is used in the basic coverage layer, the middle frequency band (new if 7-15GHz) is used in the capacity / coverage layer, and the high frequency band is used in the extreme experience layer. On the whole, the middle and low frequency band is still the most economical way to achieve wide coverage; millimeter wave band tends to mature in 6G, perception is the new power; terahertz band injects infinite possibilities for perception and communication.

"6G is not a simple upgrade of 5G, but a leapfrog promotion." Wang Jun said that 6G has six key technology directions: native intelligence, extreme connectivity, network awareness, satellite-to-earth integration, native credibility, and carbon neutrality.

In addition, he stressed that a globally unified 6G standard is the only way. In 6G R & D, Huawei will also work with partners to promote global standards.
