Consultants are personalized cloud consultants that help follow best practices to optimize Azure deployments. It can analyze resource allocation and telemetry usage, and recommend solutions to help improve the economic efficiency, performance and high availability of Azure resources.

Using consultants, you can:

Get proactive, actionable, and personalized best practice recommendations. Improve the performance, security, and high availability of resources while identifying opportunities to reduce overall Azure expenditure. Get advice through the proposed inline operation.

Consultants can be accessed through the Azure portal. Log in to the portal and look for "consultant" in the navigation menu

Or search for it in the all Services menu.

You can click the favorite button to dock it to the left navigation menu bar.

The consultant dashboard displays personalized suggestions for all subscriptions. Filters can be applied to specific subscription and resource types to display recommendations. The recommendations fall into four categories:

High availability: ensure and improve the continuity of critical business applications. Security: detect threats and vulnerabilities that may cause security problems. Performance: improve the speed of the application.

Cost: optimize and reduce total Azure expenditure.

You can click Category to display a list of suggestions for this category, and select a suggestion for more information. You can also learn about the actions that can be performed to solve the problem.

Select the recommended action to implement the recommendation. The system will open a simple interface to help you implement the suggestions.

Or provide you with reference documentation that will help you implement the recommendations. The consultant confirmed that the recommendations could be implemented for as long as a day.

If you do not intend to take the recommended action immediately, you can postpone it for a specified period of time or eliminate it. If you do not want to receive recommendations from a particular subscription or resource group, you can configure the consultant to generate only relevant recommendations for certain specified subscriptions and resource groups.
