Preparatory work

This tutorial is only for DellR620,R720. At the same time, the raid model is LSI2008,LSI2108.

1. View the server raid information lspci-nn | grep LSI02:00.0 RAID bus controller [0104]: LSI Logic / Symbios Logic MegaRAID SAS 2008 [Falcon] [1000nn] (rev 03)

Check to see if the hardware ID is in the list removed by Redhat

Remove list

You can see that the Raid driver has been removed from the source code, and other hardware drivers can also be seen in this table.

two。 Download the raid driver

Thanks to the elrepo team, they extracted the raid driver and packaged it out for everyone to use.

The driver links are as follows:

Find the appropriate raid driver according to your raid model.

Because the previous raid message is MegaRAID SAS, use dd-megaraid_sas-07.707.50.00-1.el8_0.elrepo.iso

2.1 make a boot disk or USB disk

You can make the downloaded iso into CD or copy it to a U disk. Then burn the image of centos8 to DVD or USB disk. How to use it, see if your server has a CD-ROM drive.

Note: U disk format must be fat32

3. Install the system and load the driver 3.1 start the installation using centos8's installation media

Type Tab into the boot menu in the installation start interface, and type "inst.dd" on the command line before continuing.

Insert a new U disk with megaraid's iso, select the corresponding dud driver, and install it

3.4 if all goes well, press C to continue and you will enter the system installation.

Enter the normal installation interface and check the hard drive at this time to find that it has been identified.
