Install fedora21 under vmware 11 and set up sharing Note:

The fedora kernel used is: 3.17.4-301.fc21.x86_64

You can use the command to view:

[root@localhost share fedora 21] # uname-r

3.17.4-301.fc21.x86_64

Follow the normal method of installing a shared directory and select: virtual machine-install vmware tools on the virtual machine

Here's what I do next, create a directory / root/tools, and copy the files in vmware tools to that directory.

Then unzip it to this directory, and there will be a directory vmware-tools-distrib/ after decompression.

Enter this directory:

[root@localhost tools] # cd / root/tools/vmware-tools-distrib/

Execute the installation command:

[root@localhost vmware-tools-distrib] #. / vmware-install.pl

If you have problems with gcc and the kernel, install gcc and kernal first.

Update the yum source first:

[root@localhost tools] # yum update

Then install gcc

[root@localhost tools] # yum install gcc*

Next, install the kernel:

[root@localhost tools] # yum install kernel-devel-3.17.4-301.fc21.x86_64

Next, you can enter all the way, and finally go to the / mnt/hgfs/ file to see the shared content.

There will be no problem with performing the installation at this time:

[root@localhost vmware-tools-distrib] #. / vmware-install.pl

But after rebooting, when you enter the virtual machine and view the shared directory, there is a directory of / mnt/hgfs/, but

You can no longer see the shared content. Check the kernel version again and find that it has changed to 4.0.4-202.fc21.x86_64.

Then reinstall the above process and find that an error message will pop up during the installation process.

Therefore, in fedora 21 x86-64, it will be a problem to establish a shared folder. It is recommended that after the installation is complete,
