At the end of 2016, Microsoft officially released an efficient tool to improve team communication and communication based on the Office platform: Microsoft Teams, a very powerful team work center, which can integrate chat, meetings, document sharing and some daily office applications: Word,Excel,PowerPoint,OneNote,SharePoint,Power BI into a unified shared workspace, and can be easily accessed on any mobile device to promote team work. And improve efficiency.

Microsoft Teams is built on Office 365 and Azure very large enterprise cloud, so it can provide users with advanced security and compliance that meet customer expectations. Since its launch, it has been favored by the majority of end users.

Although Microsoft Teams improves and strengthens the ability of collaborative work and communication between internal employees and external users (partners), because of its inherent logic: the new teams background in the Microsoft Teams window will automatically create a lot of related applications: Office Groups, Mailbox, SharePoint Team Site, etc., many enterprises are now faced with some Challenges and are looking for suitable solutions.

Challenges for Microsoft Team (Office 365 Groups):

With the passage of time, business people within the enterprise have created more and more teams based on business contacts to ensure information confirmation and requirements discussion between different teams, but it has virtually brought a lot of Challenges to IT Admin is not limited to:

In order to ensure that the Office 365 platform is clearer and more reasonable for end-users, IT Admin needs to file some Teams that is no longer in use on a regular basis. Once the end user needs to access the archived document, IT Admin needs to quickly restore the document and other related information to the location under the premise of the internal SLA of the organization.

Solution for deleting Microsoft Team Site:

Because the Site Collection derived from Microsoft Team is a special type, there is no "delete" button, but in order to meet the needs from the majority of users, I have discussed with many enterprise IT Admin and come up with the following feasible solutions:

Use a third-party tool (AvePoint Cloud Backup) to back up the entire Office platform or Microsoft Teams (Office Groups) on a regular basis. If the enterprise has a R & D team, you can also use REST API to develop a customized backup tool.

If Office 365 IT Admin removes the Groups that is no longer in use through the Office 365 Management Center to release Office 365 system resources. If the end users needs to access the document, IT Admin can re-establish the Microsoft Team of the same name (Office 365Groups) and then perform the restore action of the archive file to ensure that the data is restored to its original location.

Please note:

Once IT Admin removes Groups (Teams) from the Office 365management platform, the associated Objects including Conversations, document, Group Note book, etc., will be deleted together. By default, Office 365 is reserved for deleted data for 30 days. If you delete it by mistake and do not have a third-party tool for backup policy management, you must contact IT Admin to complete the data recovery within 30 days, otherwise it will be permanently deleted.
