Huawei's P40 lineup is equipped with EMUI 10.1out-of-the-box, built on Android 10, with a bunch of products from Huawei. Huawei EMUI 10 software micro-upgrade also plans to obtain EMUI 10.1. For example, the global users of Huawei P30, Huawei Mate 30 and Huawei Nova 5T received the global Beta version of EMUI 10.1 about a month ago. Although Chinese original equipment manufacturers plan to deliver stable versions to Huawei's Mate 30 series sometime next month, Huawei's P30 and P30 Pro are now receiving stable EMUI 10.1 updates in many European countries.

The version number of the new firmware is 10.1.0.123, which has some features, such as enhanced AOD clock style and new fingerprint scanner animation. Huawei will also add the latest May 2020 security patch to this update. Since users in Spain, France and Germany can download a large number of OTA (about 4.59GB) through Huawei's Support app, there seems to be no need for Beta testing in advance.

Interestingly, the so-called "new version" of Huawei P30 Pro has already been installed at the factory, which may be why the newer version of EMUI 10.1 is quickly available to regular P30/P30 Pro. However, Huawei will also launch different software versions based on EMUI 10 in some areas for the same security patch level of SPL in May 2020, so the actual large-scale EMUI 10.1 release of these devices may be planned for the first time next month.

Interestingly, Huawei's new Celia voice assistant is not included in the current EMUI 10.1 version of the P30 series. The company recently launched its own virtual assistant in Huawei's P40 series, but there is no clear timetable to support the old model.
